There are several ways to get involved with Habitat for Humanity, and not every one involves swinging a hammer. We are continually seeking support in any of the following areas:
Volunteer and Leadership
Providing decent housing at an affordable price to homeowners in McKinley County would not be possible without the help of our loyal volunteers. While some volunteers are only involved with the physical process of building a home, countless others are heavily involved with the planning of fundraisers, organizing events, interviewing families, and taking care of the day-to-day tasks that keep our organization alive.
Although we do not offer paid positions at Habitat for Humanity of Gallup, there is a full-time leadership team including a Board of Directors, elected officers, and appointed committee members that oversee the internal operations of Habitat for Humanity of Gallup. Being a leader with Habitat of Gallup is not only an excellent learning experience, but it also a fantastic way to sharpen personal and professional skills while interacting with local businesses and organizations.
We accept donations of all sizes, and since Habitat for Humanity of Gallup is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization all of your donations are tax-deductible. Donated funds are kept locally in McKinley County and go directly to fund projects, fundraisers, and events that are hosted by Habitat of Gallup.
Supplies & Yard Sale Donations
Every year local businesses and individuals donate supplies to Habitat for Humanity of Gallup. When those supplies cannot used to build a home or they are extra at the conclusion of a project, they are sold to the public at the Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale as discounted building materials.
Your vehicle donation will help Habitat for Humanity build homes in partnership with families in your community.
Car donations are another way to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
When you donate a car to Cars for Homes, you will help your local Habitat for Humanity build and rehabilitate houses with families in need of affordable shelter.
The car donation process is quick and easy.
It can be accomplished online or with a phone call to 505-722-4226. If you donate an automobile or other vehicle, you may be eligible for a tax deduction.
